Marilyn at AZIZI: This is Marilyn, and I live in Eugene, Oregon. My main artistic interests are metal work, gemstone jewelry, Shibori fabric dying, sewing, and cooking. I live with Doug and our teenage daughter, Emma. We have a wonderful Australian Shepherd named Ernie. We spend a lot of time hiking around outside in the woods, wetlands, and fields. Oregon is a ruggedly beautiful state, with the Pacific ocean on one side, the Cascade Mountains in the middle, and the desert on the other side. It rains a lot, so it's very green. Our rivers are swift and cold, with clear clean water. The wilderness is a big influence in my work. During the day I work as an attorney. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with people and help to make their lives better. To thrive I balance that serious work with making art and taking long walks along the river with the dog.
